Three generations of caring for Jewish families.

Our family and staff are dedicated to helping you ease and understand the stress and grief that accompanies the loss of a loved one. As far back as the beginning of this century, we were serving families of the lower east side of Manhattan. Originally known as the Gordon Memorial Chapel, the name of our funeral home has evolved over the years to reflect our tradition of quality, caring service.

In 1958, my father Seymour Resnick joined my grandfather, Harry Buchbinder, at Gordon & Buchbinder. Shortly thereafter, the name became Resnick & Buchbinder. After “growing up” in the profession, I knew that I wanted to join the family business. I shared the same dedication and compassion my father and grandfather always showed to the community. When we moved to our current location in 1980, we changed the name to Sinai Chapels.

Our family has taken every opportunity to improve our professional capabilities and service to our families. This includes remodeling our facility; designed with the families we serve in mind, we have created a comforting place for you to reflect on the life of your loved one.

As the third generation of our funeral chapel, I am proud to serve the Jewish community with the same quality and compassion for which my family has always been known.
